. . . When you can go by DRAGON!?! XD

What do you call the opposite of artist's block? Artist flow? Artist mania? Ah well, whatever it is I got it BAD XD

Argh this took a looooong time! Infact I think this is the longest I've ever spent on a single picture before, all because of the goddam scales! I had no idea they would take so long to draw >:( Also this is my first ever attempt at a non-cartoon human, so please be easy on me T_T

Anyways these are my two characters, Rachel and her best friend/to-be-partner, Jake. They're both shapeshifters, but Rachel's form (a unicorn) is unable to fly, so if they ever need to cross a large strech of water or a mountain range it's a lot easier for her to stay human and ride Jake rather than run shifted. Right now they've probably arrived at wherever they're headed and are taking a breather ^_^

About 8 hours (how immensly embarrassing!) in Photoshop CS4

Any critique on Rachel would be greatly appreciated! Critique on Jake is welcome as well, but Im less likely to benefit from it because Im happy with his current design ^^

Wooow... before I read your description I was drooling at the scales. The time you spent on them really shows.:D

Not sure I can really critique Rachel, I'm no good at realistic people. Perhaps she could do with a bit more shading to match the intricate work on Jake.

Welcome to the world of scales than, Phoenix. I've got six of these dragon characters, and only half of them have been drawn.
Beautiful job on Rachel! If you want to compare non-cartoon people, I'll have my character, Akira, up Sunday afternoon (my time)if nothing goes wrong.^^

okay phoenix, i beg you... no, command you! do a tutorial on how to make such awesome eyes! O.o pleease? *attepts to look cute and innocent, and fails miserably* okay, i need to work on that XD seriously though, those eyes are EPIC :love:
